I’m sure a surprising amount of people has asked themselves that question in the last 5 years. But I’m also sure that the majority of those people haven’t looked any further. eBay still has a heap load of opportunity for the budding entrepreneur, its just that most people either think that the hype is over or they just haven’t been bothered to take there interest any further.
I’m guessing that if your reading this article, that’s not you! You’re interested in how to make money on eBay, right? That’s great, but for the majority of people out there the hardest part is knowing where to start. There’s so much information on the Internet and it’s very easy to get lost and confused. So where should you start if your looking to make some cash on eBay?
Firstly, you need to research. The beginning part of any business is research, research, research. You need to find a niche, an area of interest, somewhere that you know you can profit. In my opinion the best way to do this is to start with the things that interest you, your hobbies or expertise. If you’re working with something that you enjoy, your more likely to profit, right?
You need to spend time looking though eBay and other auction sites, get familiar with products and prices in a certain and niche and find an area that you think you would be most successful selling in.
Once you’ve found that area, you need to find a product source. The best place, in my opinion for beginners to start is with drop shipping. With drop shipping there’s no stock to be kept on your behalf and so you don’t have to worry about postage. Drop shipping companies keep the products for you (which you list on auction sites for a fraction more than your paying for them) and then when you make a sale, they send them off for you.
